Oasis of Hope Mathare
Changing the Lives of Kids & Families in Mathare
Founded in 2015, Oasis of Hope serves children in Mathare with a library and playgroup. The program brings together over 250 children every Saturday from Mathare slums from ages 0 to 17 years, this fellowship was started because most of the time the parents of the children in the program were very busy trying to provide for the children, hence nobody was home to address spiritual matters and general welfare of the children, some of the children were also left with their younger siblings to take care of them. The organization decided to stand in the gap and shepherd children once every week.

We’re here to make disciples of Jesus, to walk alongside young families as they chase their God-given dreams, and to build a loving, faith-filled community where hope is nurtured and lives are transformed.
To encourage and empower youth and families in Mathare slums to live into their God-given dreams.
We Can't Help Everyone, but Everyone can help someone
We focus on the following activities;
- Mentorship
- Education
- Nurturing talents (sports, music, etc.)
- Spiritual encouragement (Word of God)
Why Oasis of Hope!
I, Jacob, grew up poor, often hungry, and felt alone. In high school, a club empowered me and it changed my life forever. That’s why I started Oasis of Hope.

Jacob Ogodo
Founder
I am Jacob, and my experience growing up in poverty and facing hunger motivated me to create change for others. In high school, I joined a club that completely transformed my life, revealing that no matter the challenges life throws our way, we can rise and fulfill our dreams. I want every child and youth to understand that they have the strength to conquer their obstacles and evolve into the greatest versions of themselves.
That’s why I established Oasis of Hope– a sanctuary where dreams are fostered and promising futures are created. Join me in making a meaningful difference!. Join me in making a lasting impact!
